We love a product with a good story! 

'Herbes de Provence' is a mixture of dried herbs considered typical of the Provence region of southeastern France. They create a savory flavoring for foods such as olives, meats, stews, and sauces. The herbs included are Thyme, basil, savory, fennel, and lavender. It's really an all purpose spice blend!

Here's the story:

Aux Anysetiers du Roy was first a restaurant in L'Ile Saint-Louis, near Notre-Dame. It specialized in Provençal cooking, and was one of the first to offer grilled meats seasoned with Provençal herbs. At the end of dinner, each customer was offered a small gift– a small Herbs de Provence crock, containing a special blend prepared by owner Louis Lombard, who was the first to include lavender flowers in the now-famous aromatic herb blend. 

The crocks are clay and made by hand, and a joy to both the giver and the receiver and are beautiful on a counter.
